About Dominic Kennedy
Hey there!
I'm a design system consultant, usability engineer, designer, musician, and artist based in Berlin, Germany. I help teams design usable systems, craft better experiences, and find clarity in complexity.
With a background bridging technology, design, and human behavior (MA Usability Engineering), I focus on creating user-centered solutions that are not only functional but also enjoyable and effective.
I believe in understanding the 'why' behind user actions and aligning user needs with business goals to create products that truly work for people.
What I Do
Usability Consulting
I help teams identify and solve usability issues through research, testing, and evidence-based recommendations. My goal is to make your products more intuitive and effective for your users.
Design Systems
I create and maintain design systems that bring consistency, efficiency, and scalability to your product development process. From tokens to components to documentation, I build systems that work.
Product Architecture
I help teams design the underlying structure of their products, ensuring they're built on a solid foundation that can evolve with changing needs while maintaining usability and performance.
Workshops & Training
I offer workshops and training sessions on usability, design systems, and human-centered design. I help teams build their skills and adopt practices that lead to better products.
Beyond Work
When I'm not designing or consulting, I play the bodhrán (an Irish frame drum) and explore traditional Celtic music. I'm also deeply interested in decentralized technologies and how they might reshape our digital future.
I'm building my own personal OS for life's timeline—a system for capturing and connecting ideas, experiences, and knowledge. It's part note-taking system, part personal wiki, and part life dashboard.
I believe in continuous learning and sharing knowledge. I regularly write about my experiences and insights on my blog, and I'm always open to conversations about design, technology, and the human experience.
