I build things that help people.
Dominic Kennedy — UX researcher, design systems architect, creative technologist. Düsseldorf.
I make software more usable. Research first, then design, then code.
What I do
Design Systems Architecture
I build and scale design systems for enterprise platforms — biometric recognition (IDEMIA), banking and insurance (Crossnative, Atruvia). From greenfield to established teams, I unify design practice through components, documentation, and governance.
User Research & Interface Design
Field research at trivago. Usability testing across finance, healthcare, and travel. Chip configuration interfaces at Infineon. Great products start with context — what people do, the tools they use, the workflows they've built.
Personal Information Management
My Master's thesis tackled cognitive load in personal information retrieval. I designed LifeTimeLine — a hybrid of timeline navigation and faceted filters that scored 77.5 on SUS. Those patterns still drive my work on privacy-first data tools.
Explore Timeline OSExperimentation & Side Projects
I'm building privacy-first personal data infrastructure on Solid Pods — Tim Berners-Lee's framework for user-controlled data. The focus: OS-level enhancements to storage, retrieval, and handling across communications, project management, finances, health records, and scheduling.
AI-assisted coding and modern frameworks also let me ship games, apps, and tools I've long wanted to build.
